SHE Talks Q & A

Why did you decide to start your own business?

I was seeing a career/business coach because of an internal feeling that I was meant to do more with my skills. At the time, I thought it meant that my then job needed to be enhanced. However, that feeling and those sessions led to entrepreneurship.

How do you deal with fear and doubt?

Most times, I talk it out. Find somebody or “some bodies” to discuss the challenge that I’m fearful about. To be fair, it’s not even much of a discussion because the person is really a sounding board. If no one is available, then I am my own sounding board because fear and doubt will not be the thing that’s preventing me from doing something that needs to be done.

How do you define success?
I define it by being happy and having the resources to do all the things I enjoy.

What would you change about your business journey if you could go back?

I would have ventured into entrepreneurship on a part time basis while remaining employed for a much longer time.

Who is someone who’s made a big impact on your life? Why?

Oprah Winfrey. Her interview style and the success of her talk show opened up a whole new way of thinking for me.

Describe what a perfect day outside of work would look like for you?

Sleeping and binge watching a television series without feeling guilty.

What’s your go-to comfort food?

Roti.

What would be the theme song of your life right now?

When Jesus Says Yes, Nobody Can Say No!
